Life Lessons

Stalkers...we all have them, right?  Honestly, I hope not.  Secret admirer - flattering. Someone you had to get a restraining order for who calls to say they're on a plane to your state - creepy.  Someone who you had arrested who emails monthly to say they have changed and want to be friends - obsessed.  Someone who is verbally abusive when you break your silence after a year and tell them to leave you alone - hateful.  Someone who contacts you two years after you broke up because they are sorry and need a "friend" to talk to - crazy.

The short version is this...this is not a situation restricted to poor or weak women. Anyone who tries to control what you do, what you say, who you hang out with, contacts your Ex to get dirt on you, and tries to turn your family against you...is damaged and potentially dangerous.  Tell someone what has been going on and move on!  Even if you enabled that behavior, even when it only takes a short time to figure all that out, moving on is not always that easy.  The reality is once you get a little perspective from a safe distance, you'll know it's the right thing...and the only thing to do.

Moving On - Since my last post I have done the usual conditioning routine twice. Today, I added another quarter mile to my run.....oooooohhhh, ahhhhhhhh....I know, not earth shattering, but still, it's a babystep in the right direction.

Progress Report -
  • .25 mile walk
  • .75 mile run
  • .5 mile walk
Total Distance - 1.5 miles
Total Time - 21'01"

  1. I'm no genius (grammar excluded), but something isn't really adding up in your first paragraph. I believe it takes two to tango. I wonder what their take on you would be? The reason I ask is simple. You keep referencing he uses the word friend. Most "stalkers" do not use that phrase, even to get close. Quite the opposite, in fact. It's only my entire career. Just like your picture says, "Life is too short;" It's also too short to not see if someone is different. You don't know me from anyone, but you humor my anonymous posts. Do you really have anything to lose if you respond to them and see what is wrong? What if you're the person that saves their life? Granted, if they are going to slip up, they'll do so with the first inch you give them. If they are truly looking or needing a friend, you'll be able to see that instantly. People change over time. I've read your boring blog and can see changes from your first entry all the way until this one. Your kids will change (because of your food most probably). Everyone deserves second chances. Sometimes even 15 of them. Maybe not romantically, but everyone needs help. I challenge you to give the benefit of the doubt. You seem to have conquered running so this should be easy. If he's psycho, it'll show in less than one email, two tops. And, by the way, your blog isn't that boring. A little. But tolerable. Fluke how I came across it.

  2. There is only one person in the world who would read that post and advise giving the person described another chance. Please stop or I will post your name, business name, address and phone number for the whole world to find should they be worried enough to Google you. Once again, please leave me alone.

  3. UPDATE: Looks like my stalker was arrested for sexual assault for the second time. Found guilty of a lesser offense the first time, but this time with a minor. Yup, he was arrested one month after this "conversation" and found guilty...registered sex offender. So, ladies, if something is just "not right" about a guy (or woman) make sure you tell someone.
